This year's meeting will mark the 30th anniversary of the CVIT General Assembly. It will be held one year later than the original schedule. It will be held from Thursday, July 23 to Saturday, July 25, 2022, at Pacifico Yokohama.
CVIT has been conducting socially important activities, and CVIT was able to win the revision of the Rotablator Facility Standards in 2020. In addition, the use of P2Y12 inhibitors as single agents after PCI was approved in the package insert. This was also proposed by CVIT. We have also published a consensus document in English on corona handling in the cath lab.
The ISCHEMIA trial was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2020, and the shocking result was that there was no difference in the all-cause mortality rate between PCI and CABG compared with medical treatment. In order for PCI to survive in the future, we have to keep our wits. I believe that there is always a way. With this in mind, I chose the theme of this year's conference as "The True Value of Cardiovascular Intervention”.
There are various interesting areas in which CVIT is involved, such as advances in imaging and physiological testing in coronary artery treatment, advances in the treatment of structure heart disease, many new devices in the field of peripheral artery disease, and interventional treatment for heart failure. We have to show the "true value of intervention". In the 30th Annual Meeting, we are expecting active academic discussions by young interventionalists who have spent some time in hibernation due to COVID19.
The format of the meeting will be mainly a hybrid format, but please allow for possible changes depending on the status of COVID19. 23-25 July, 2022, we hope to be able to enjoy the cool summer evening in Yokohama. See you at Pacifico Yokohama if possible.
